    U.S Anesthesia Partners of Maryland (USAP-Maryland) is seeking full time CRNAs  to join the team at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.  CRNAs are vital to USAP’s mission to provide high-quality anesthesia care to each patient in a collaborative team model.  We provide competitive compensation and benefits to include medical, dental, life, paid malpractice, PTO, CME/Expense Reimbursement, 401k match and profit sharing.  Schedules available include 8,10 and 12 hour shifts with occasional call required. Sign on bonus with one year commitment for this location

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

     

    Clinical responsibilities of the CRNA are delineated by his or her clinical privileges and may include:

    Pre-anesthesia Assessment & Case Preparation:

    • Perform and documents timely pre-anesthesia assessments: review of medical history, focused physical examination (heart, lungs, airway), develop plan for anesthesia care in consultation with anesthesiologist
    • Anticipates key procedures and assures an anesthesia environment (supplies & equipment including anesthesia machine check, fluid warmers, blood, special equipment) necessary to carry out anesthetic plan
    • Orders and administers pre-anesthetic medications and fluids

     Intra-Op Assessment:

    • Selects, applies and inserts non-invasive and invasive monitoring devices
    • Selects and administers anesthesia (general, sedation, regional) adjuncts and accessory drugs and fluids
    • Manages patient airway and pulmonary status
    • Demonstrates understanding of relevant clinical issues, recognizing priorities in clinical situations; aware of own limits; appropriate use of tests and procedures
    • Maintains effective communication with team (iintraoperative personnel, surgeon, anesthesiologist)
    • Manage emergency situations by assessing and stabilizing, including providing airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques
    • Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia and transport to recovery area

     

    Post-anesthesia Evaluation & Management:

    • Implements acute pain management
    • Performs and documents timely post-anesthesia evaluation
    • Provides a complete report of patient’s anesthetic course and any pertinent information necessary to accurately transfer care of the patient

     

    Additional non-clinical responsibilities may include

    • Quality assessment and quality assurance activities
    • Didactic and clinical education of students and staff
    • Completion of annual required compliance training and participation in required educational programs
    • Ability to work effectively and independently with hospital personnel, physicians and patients
    • Supports patient safety when performing his or her job functions and through participation in facility, department or unit patient safety initiatives.
    • Ability to implement and adhere to company and facility policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

    Qualifications:

    • Holds current active state licensure in the state of Maryland and complies with any applicable statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs
    • Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs
    • Is currently in process, certified or recertified by the NBCRNA
    • Demonstrates current competency in the clinical responsibilities specified below
    • Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certification
